Ryan uses Zoom conferencing for online lessons. It is recommended that you have your account set up ahead of time before your first online lesson. The Meeting ID will be shared with you so you can join the meeting when it time for your lesson. Below, is a quick tutorial on how to get setup.
Installing The App
In most cases, you may be having your lesson via mobile. In this case you want to go to your app store and look for “Zoom Cloud Meetings”. Download and install the application on your desired device.
You do not need an account to join Ryan but if you wish to sign up for an account you can.
Connecting To Ryan’s Meeting.
When it is time for your lesson, Ryan will invite you via link. You will be able to join the meeting. You do not have to have an account to join.
To avoid time spent on troubleshooting, please make sure you have good audio and video. For piano students, this may mean having a stand that you can set your phone on so that Ryan can see your hands on the keys.
For guitar students, it is best for Ryan to be able to see both hands on the guitar.
Ryan may also ask for a good picture of whatever music you are working on so he can reference it while you are playing.
